Aloo Saag Recipes

Ingredients : |
6 tbsp oil
1 onion, chopped
1 inch piece of fresh root ginger, chopped
2 fresh green chilies, finely chopped
1 tsp turmeric
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 lb potatoes, cut into small pieces
1 lb frozen leaf spinach, defrosted
salt |
Method :
- Heat the oil in a frying pan, add
the onion and cook until soft.
- Add the ginger, chilies, turmeric,
garlic, cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the potatoes, salt to taste,
stir well, cover, cook for 10 minutes.
- Drain the spinach in a colander,
squeeze out excess moisture.
- Chop the spinach, add to the
potatoes and cook for about 5 minutes, until both vegetables are
tender.
- Serve hot.
Serves 4
If you use fresh spinach, it will give a
slightly stronger color and flavor.
