Mache Chowder Recipes

Ingredients :

2 tsp olive oil

1/4 large green bell pepper, finely minced

1 medium stalk celery, finely minced

1 small onion, finely minced

1 clove garlic, minced

one 15-ounce can cream-style corn

3 3/4 cups skim milk, soymilk or rice milk

1 tbsp yellow miso paste

salt and white pepper to taste

3 tbsp finely minced parsley

Method :
  1. In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add green pepper, celery, onion and garlic. Cook, stirring constantly, until vegetables wilt and are tender but not brown.
  2. Add corn and milk to mixture; stir to blend. Cook, stirring constantly, until warm. Add miso paste, salt, and white pepper. Cover and simmer over very low heat about 5 minutes, or until heated through. Stir in parsley and serve at once.
