Doughnuts Recipes

Ingredients :

100 gm plain flour

11 gm instant yeast

1.5 cups water

2/3 cup full-cream milk powder

2 whole egg

1 tbsp margarine

6 tbsp granulated sugar

2 tbsp salt

1 tbsp baking powder

Method :

Mix flour and instant yeast together and dissolve the sugar in the water. Place all the ingredients in the mixing bowl and knead the dough until smooth. Round the dough and leave it to rest for 30 minutes or until it rise up to double its original size. Using a rolling pin, roll dough to about 1.5cm thick.

Cut with a doughnut cutter and place the dough pieces on a tray which is lightly sprinkled with flour. Allow the dough pieces to rest in a warm place for approximately 30-40 minutes. Fry dough pieces in deep oil 170-180C (350-370F) until the doughnut is golden brown in color. Coat doughnuts with sugar or glace icing before serving.
