prunes, well washed
blanched whole almonds
of streaky bacon, de-rinded if necessary and halved
- Soak prunes in a mixture of cold
tea or cider until they soften and look fleshy and plump.
- Drain thoroughly.
- Put a whole almond into each then
wrap round with half a bacon rasher.
- Secure bacon with cocktail sticks
then grill until bacon crispness, turning once.
- Drain on crumpled kitchen paper
then transfer to a d'oyley-lined plate.
- Serve straight away.
An idea drinks party nibble, these are
very easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time, left in the
refrigerator and grilled just before eating.
