Gado Gado Recipes

Ingredients :

90g bean shoots

90g French beans

315g broccoli florets

100g carrots, sliced

90g cabbage, diced

1 medium green pepper; seeded and sliced

90g mangetout

2 medium onions, cut into 8 wedges

3 tomatoes, cut into wedges

1 medium sized cucumber; peeled and diced

3 hard boiled eggs, cut into quarters

Method :
  1. Fill a medium sized saucepan with water and bring to a rapid boil.
  2. Plunge the vegetables, dealing with each variety separately, into the boiling water, except the tomatoes and cucumber.
  3. Blanch each kind of vegetable in the boiling water for no more than 1 minute, or until the color intensifies.
  4. Quickly place the blanched vegetables in the colander and immediately refresh under cold, running water this preserves the color and crispness.
  5. Bring the water back to the boil before blanching the next type of vegetables.
  6. Arrange all the ingredients on a platter.
  7. Serve immediately.
