Ingredients :

1/4 cup

butter or margarine

small onions, peeled

can tomatoes, sieved

chicken stock

white wine

cloves

bay leaf

small stick cinnamon

Method :
  1. Melt butter in a heavy based saucepan.
  2. Fry whole onions until golden brown.
  3. Add all remaining ingredients.
  4. Simmer for 45 minutes or until onions are tender.
