Wash fennel
well and cut each bulb into eighths. Heat oil in medium skillet and
sauté onion, garlic, salt and pepper until onion is just tender. Stir in
fennel and mix to coat well with olive oil. Lower heat and sauté gently
until fennel is tender. Add basil and cook for 2-3 minutes longer.
