Mushroom Sauté Recipes

Ingredients :

1/4 cup

1/8 tsp

1/3 cup


1 pound

11/4 cup

packed brown sugar



Dijon mustard

Worcestershire sauce

red wine

onion, cut into eighths

fresh mushrooms, cleaned and cut in half

1" pieces of green pepper

Method :
  1. Combine the brown sugar, cornstarch, pepper, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and wine in a 2 cup glass measure.
  2. Microwave on high 100% for 1 minute.
  3. Add the onion pieces.
  4. Microwave on high 100% for 2-3 minutes, until the onion softens.
  5. Stir after 1 minute.
  6. Put the mushrooms and green pepper in a 21/2 quart microwavable casserole.
  7. Add the sauce and onion.
  8. Cover and microwave on high 100% for 5-7 minutes. stirring twice, until the vegetables are tender but not soft.

Serves 8

Mushrooms and green peppers served in a sweet sour sauce, unusual ? Perhaps. Delicious ? Absolutely.

Cooking Tip :

Always wipe mushrooms clean with a damp cloth. If they are rinsed under running water or soaked, they absorb unnecessary liquid.
