Pasta With Chick Pea Sauce Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

300 g

5 ml




425 g

250 ml



cups pasta

olive oil

small onion, finely chopped

garlic clove, crushed

celery stick, finely chopped

chick peas, drained


salt and black pepper

chopped fresh parsley, to garnish

Method :
  1. Heat the olive oil in a non stick pan and sauté the onion, garlic and celery until softened, not browned.
  2. Stir in the chick peas and tomato sauce, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Cook the pasta in a large pan of boiling, lightly salted water until just tender.
  4. Drain the pasta and toss into the sauce, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, then serve hot.

Serves 4

Variation :

To make Pasta with beans, omit the chick peas and substitute a 425 g can of mixed beans, or use the same size can of kidney beans instead.
