Ingredients :

yam (jimikand)

green chilies, finely chopped

ginger, finely chopped

salt

white pepper

red chili powder

chaat masala

green coriander, finely chopped

bread crumbs

oil

Method :
  1. Peel and wash the yam.
  2. Immerse in boiling water and cook until it becomes tender.
  3. Remove from water, grate finely and squeeze out all excess water.
  4. To the grated yam, add the remaining ingredients.
  5. Mix well and divide into 8 equal portions.
  6. Shape the portions into medallions.
  7. Shallow fry each, on medium heat, till they become crisp and golden brown on both sides.
  8. Serve hot, accompanied by Mint Chutney.
