Spinach With Cottage Cheese Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

Spinach (palak) leaves

cottage cheese (paneer), cut into cubes


maize flour (makke ka atta)

clarified butter (ghee)

onions, chopped

tomatoes, finely chopped

ginger, finely chopped

green chilies, chopped

red chili powder


salt to taste

Method :
  1. Remove stems of the spinach leaves.
  2. Wash well and chop finely.
  3. Add water and salt, cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool, drain excess water and blend to a purée.
  5. Reheat spinach purée, stir in the maize flour and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. In a separated pan, heat clarified butter, brown the onion, add tomato, ginger, green chilies and red chili powder.
  7. Stir in the spinach purée and cook for 3 - 5 minutes.
  8. Add cottage cheese cubes, cook for another 5 minutes.
  9. Stir in the cream.
  10. Serve hot, topped with a knob of butter and accompanied by any Indian bread.

Serves 4 - 5
