Cottage Cheese In a Pickled Curry Cooking Recipes

cottage cheese (paneer), cubed

olive or mustard oil

cloves (laung)

green cardamoms (choti elaichi)

mustard (raee) seeds

fenugreek (methi dana) seeds

red chilies, whole

black cumin (shah jeera)

onions, chopped fine

ginger paste

garlic paste

red chili powder

turmeric (haldi) powder

asafoetida (heeng)

yoghurt, whisked

black pepper, crushed


garlic cloves, whole

lemon juice

green coriander, chopped

salt to taste

Method :
  1. Heat oil till it is smoking, lightly stir fry cloves, cardamoms, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, whole red chilies and cumin seeds.
  2. Lower the heat.
  3. Add onions and brown over medium heat.
  4. Stir in ginger garlic pastes, red chili powder, turmeric powder and asafoetida, cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
  5. Add yoghurt, bring to boil, simmer until the oil separates.
  6. Add cottage cheese cubes, salt, pepper, sugar, garlic cloves and lemon juice, cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with green coriander.

Serves 4 - 5
