Chappatis Cooking Recipe

Ingredients :

225 g

150 ml

15 g

whole wheat flour, sieved

salt, optional


clarified butter (ghee)

Method :
  1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add water, knead into a smooth and elastic dough.
  3. Cover and keep aside for 20 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Place the dough on a floured board.
  5. Divide into 8 portions, roll out each into a thin round, the size of a snack plate.
  6. Heat a tawa (griddle).
  7. Place one round on the griddle.
  8. Cook until tiny spots appear on one slide, flip over and cook the other side for a few seconds.
  9. Flip over again and roast till it is of pale golden color on both sides.
  10. Brush lightly with butter and serve hot as an accompaniment to any curry dish.

Serves 4-6

Preparation time : 1/2 hours

Dessert time : 1/2 hours
