Wheat Germ Stuffing Recipes

Ingredients :

50 g wholemeal breadcrumbs

4 tbsp wheat germ

1 medium onion

100 g mushrooms

25 g butter

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

2 tbsp fresh thyme

1/2 tsp fresh marjoram

1 tsp lemon juice

1 egg yolk

pinch of ground nutmeg

salt and pepper


Method :
  1. Stir the breadcrumbs and wheat germ together.
  2. Chop the onion and mushrooms finely.
  3. Cook them in the butter over low heat until soft and golden.
  4. Add to the breadcrumbs.
  5. Stir in the herbs, lemon juice, egg yolk, nutmeg, salt, pepper and enough water to make a light crumbly stuffing.
  6. Use as required.

Note :

A tasty stuffing which may be used for poultry or fish, or for filling potatoes, peppers or rolled cabbage leaves.
