Simmer over low heat for 20
minutes, stirring occasionally.
When the mixture is thick, season
with nutmeg, salt and pepper, and stir in the butter.
Place the mixture in a greased
ovenware dish.
Bake at 200C/400F/Gas 6 for 25
minutes.
Serve hot.
Note :
An Italian dish made from maize meal
which may be served like vegetable, and is traditionally eaten with
game. It makes a good supper dish on its own with a tomato or mushroom
sauce, or with plenty of grated cheese.
