Oatmeal Soda Bread Recipes
225 g wholemeal flour
150 g coarse oatmeal
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp salt
milk and water
- Stir together flour, oatmeal,
cream of tartar, soda and salt.
- Add enough milk and water to make
a stiff dough.
- Work together until well mixed and
form into a round loaf.
- Place on a floured baking sheet
and bake at 220C/425F/Gas 7 for 25 minutes.
A quick brown loaf which is delicious
when freshly baked and served with salad or a light supper loaf. Try it
too with a savory spread or with chunky marmalade or honey.
