Stir together flour, oatmeal,
cream of tartar, soda and salt.
Add enough milk and water to make
a stiff dough.
Work together until well mixed and
form into a round loaf.
Place on a floured baking sheet
and bake at 220C/425F/Gas 7 for 25 minutes.
Note :
A quick brown loaf which is delicious
when freshly baked and served with salad or a light supper loaf. Try it
too with a savory spread or with chunky marmalade or honey.
