Hiker Snacks Recipes

Ingredients :

75 g rolled oats

50 g demerara sugar

50 g chopped dates

50 g seedless raisins

50 g chopped hazel nuts

75 g black treacle

50 g hard margarine

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 160C/325F/Gas 3.
  2. Grease and base line a 7" square cake tin.
  3. Mix together the oats, sugar, dates, raisins and nuts.
  4. Melt the treacle and margarine and pour into the dry mixture.
  5. Mix well and press into the prepared tin.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes.
  7. Cool in tin for 5 minutes and mark into fingers or squares.
  8. Finish cooling in the tin and cut into pieces before removing.

Note :

Fruit packed bars which give plenty of energy and are ideal for picnics or lunch boxes.
