Ginger Oatmeal Biscuits Recipes

Ingredients :

75 g fine oatmeal

75 g wholemeal plain flour

50 g dark of soft brown sugar

1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground mixed spice

75 g hard margarine

50 g black treacle

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 160C/325F/Gas 3.
  2. Grease 2 baking sheets.
  3. Stir together oatmeal, flour and sugar with the soda and spices.
  4. Melt the margarine and treacle together and cool.
  5. Mix with the dry ingredients.
  6. Form the dough into small balls about the size of walnuts.
  7. Put well apart on baking sheets.
  8. Press down lightly with a fork dipped in cold water.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Leave on the tin for 5 minutes, then lift on to a wire rack to cool completely and harden.

Note :

Crisp plain biscuits which are richly flavored and spiced.
