Pea Pods and Wild Rice Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

1 tbsp

61/4-ounce

13/4 cup

6 ounces

1/2 cup

2-ounce

2 tbsp

1/2 cup

cornstarch

box long grain and wild rice

water

snow pea pods, trimmed and cut into pieces

chopped celery

jar pimientos, drained and chopped

butter, cut into pieces

chopped cashews (optional)

Method :
  1. Shake the cornstarch in a 14 by 20" microwavable cooking bag.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients, except the cashews to the cooking bag and seal securely.
  3. Turn the bag to distribute the ingredients.
  4. Make 61/2" slits in the top of the bag and put it in a 12 by-8-by-2" microwavable baking dish.
  5. Microwave on high 100% for 8-10 minutes, until the rice is tender.
  6. Rotate the pan one half turn during the cooking time and manipulate the bag to mix the ingredients.
  7. Sprinkle the cashews on top, if you are using them, and serve.

Serves 6-8

Note :

Pea pods and pimientos contribute color while the wild rice and optional cashews add crunchiness.
