Sift dry ingredients together,
tipping any bran remaining in the sifter into the mixture.
Cut in the butter and mix to a
soft consistency with the milk.
Turn on to a floured board and pat
into a circle, cut into 6 segments and cook on a hot girdle
(griddle) or hot plate, 6-8 minutes as side, turning only once.
Have the girdle hot, but not so
hot that the bottoms burn before the center is cooked through.
